"We now know immediately whether the rehabilitation patient's condition is critical."

Creating more quality of life and independence for children recovering from neurological, cardiopulmonary, and locomotor disorders. That is what Rehabilitation Hospital Inkendaal in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw set out to achieve about three years ago. They found a solution for their challenging communication systems with LynX.

"We immediately know whether it is a critical situation and where it is located."

Stijn De Smedt, ICT-manager

At Inkendaal, around 80 children are undergoing rehabilitation. To ensure that the right people are always in the right place during critical situations, they implemented the call systems of 25-8. “We wanted to be able to distinguish between standard nurse calls and critical medical alarms, both audibly and visually. With the LynX call systems, nurses immediately know whether they need to interrupt their current activities to address a critical situation,” says De Smedt.

"Nurses can focus on the care of the child while the others know where they need to be."

The Zebras, LynX’s mobile devices, now enhance communication between the various nurses throughout the large school building. “Once the physical alarm button on the device is pressed, the nurse can focus on the child, while others immediately know who is being called and where the emergency is taking place,” explains De Smedt.
