AZ Zeno will renovate the right wing of its Blankenberge campus in the coming years. This wing will house, among other facilities, a brand-new outpatient clinic, bringing together ophthalmology, stomatology, ENT (ear, nose, and throat), and plastic surgery. “Our Blankenberge campus should have the same look and feel as the Knokke-Heist campus,” says Bart Dewaele, Care Director at AZ Zeno.
Bart Dewaele explains: “As part of the broader renovation framework, we are now modernizing our outpatient clinic, formerly the intensive care department, according to the same vision we applied to the Knokke campus. With plenty of natural light and white tones, complemented by supportive technology for the nursing staff—like the smart lighting technology from LynX® lifeline, which I find truly brilliant. For nurses and doctors, it is immediately clear where they need to be in case of any issues.”
“I believe LynXperfect contributes to what we stand for as a hospital: using technological innovation to improve the comfort of both caregivers and patients,” adds Bart Dewaele.
In addition, the lighting also serves as emergency lighting and can guide the way to exits or to a patient in need of resuscitation during evacuations. For the outpatient clinic, AZ Zeno is also the first to choose LynX® first: a person-following call system rather than a traditional room-based system. When a patient activates an alarm, LynX® first’s localization technology always informs the nursing departments exactly where the call originates, regardless of the patient’s location at that moment.
“The outpatient clinic provides an opportunity to test our integrated solution in a small-scale setting, after which we hope to roll it out further once the hospital is fully renovated,” concludes Dante Meulemeester, Senior Business Consultant at LynX.
